2nd Annual Red River Dash For Winter Cash Supports St.Amant

The event has been canceled due to extreme wind chill warnings.

On Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 11am-3pm there will be a fishing derby on the Red River at Selkirk Park in Selkirk. The St.Amant Foundation is the event’s 50/50 Draw charity and $1 from every event ticket sold will be donated to the St.Amant Autism Programs.

Early entry fee for the first hole is $50 when purchased on or before February 22. A second hole is $25. Tickets for children 15 and under are $25.
Please bring a container to keep your fish alive for the weigh station.
The first hole in the ice is $50. With a purchase of a second hole you are entered into win a cash prizes. Draws will be held every 30 Minutes! A second hole only costs $25.
Prizes: Top three heaviest fish: 1st place – $2500, 2nd place – $500, 3rd place – $250
There will be four $25 random draws plus children will have their own draw!

All Manitoba sport fishing rules apply (barbless hooks). Anglers must have a valid Manitoba fishing license or Treaty status ID card. One hole per entry (one line per hole) – maximum two holes per angler. You may fish any unoccupied hole. Paid contestants who are fishing will be the only ones allowed to enter the Derby site. Visitor Passes are limited. To purchase a second hole ticket, the first ticket must be present at time of sale.
Anglers must have ALL tickets clearly visible upon entry, or you will not be permitted to enter the Derby site. All coolers, pails, portable shacks will be checked before entering Derby site. Portable shacks are permitted however no shack shall be erected until the beginning of the Derby (11 am). Bring axe or chip bar to re-open holes as the holes are drilled through the ice the day before the Derby. Holes may freeze overnight.
No motorized vehicles within 50 meters of Derby site area other then official’s vehicles. Competitors must be a minimum of 18 years of age unless they have a parent or guardian fishing with them. Anglers will be allowed to enter fishing area at 7:30 am and may use depth locators to find depth. No line shall go in the water until the beginning of the Derby (9:00 am).
If you have to leave the fishing area for any reason, you must exit and enter through the check-in line. Horn will sound to begin and end the Derby. All fish must be weighed-in and released alive (no dead fish). Fish must be brought to the scale in container of water with your pail tag attached.
Example: cooler or pail of at least five gallon size. Absolutely no passing of fish amongst contestants is allowed. Incident must be reported immediately for organizer to make his decision regarding disqualification. ID tag must be worn at all times during the Derby. In case of a tie, fish weighed first will win higher prize. No pre-fishing the Derby site for 30 hours before Derby start time.
Failure to comply with the Derby rules subjects contestants to disqualification. The Derby Director has the right to delay or shorten the Derby, subject to weather or safety conditions. Should inclement weather or unsafe ice conditions cause Derby cancelation on March 1, 2014, all prizes will be awarded through a public random draw on March 1, 2014.
