2020 IASSIDD Conference Invites Abstract Submissions

Share

Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) have a right to healthcare that meets their specific health and developmental needs. As members of the health sector,  the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IASSIDD) Special Interest Research Group are actively exploring the nature and extent of the inequalities often faced by this marginalized group.
To bolster these efforts, IASSIDD Special Interest Research Group and Surrey Place are hosting 20/20 & Beyond, a two-day conference that will raise awareness, increase knowledge and connect policy and practice to improve the health of individuals with IDD.
This annual conference comes back to Canada after 11 years. It will be held from June 16 – 17, 2020 at the University of Toronto Chestnut Conference Centre in Toronto, and welcomes participation from a range of interested groups including researchers, public health professionals, policy-makers, disability service providers, health care professionals and advocates.
Currently, they are inviting abstract submissions about the health of people with IDD through the lifespan, including research related to transitions and supported decision-making in health care, disease prevention and health promotion, chronic conditions, ageing, mortality, health systems, and health policy.
Call for submissions closes on February 1, 2020. For more information, visit: www.iassiddhealthsirg2020.com.
