Caregivers needed to help deliver autism workshops

March 10, 2020

York University and The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH)  are looking to train clinicians and caregivers of people with autism to deliver ACT workshops in their communities.

What is ACT?

Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) is a mindfulness-based psychological intervention aimed at increasing one’s psychological flexibility.

What are ACT workshops?

The ACT intervention is spread over one evening followed by a full day and a “refresher” session, held four weeks later. The workshops are co-led by a clinician and caregiver. Research shows that participants who attend the workshops report improved wellbeing.
