November 27, 2020
Hello,
This week, St.Amant’s outdoor visitation shelter was delivered onsite and work to ensure it meets all the required standards continues. The indoor visitation space is also nearing completion. More details will be shared when they are available.
Everyone supported in H&TS has placed their orders for the St.Amant Wish Book gift baskets and are looking forward to the delivery of their special gifts on December 18!
There is no additional information to share regarding the outbreak declared on November 7. The Stabilization area remains under close observation until December 4. Once the outbreak is over, we will still remain at the Elevated or Critical RED level on the Pandemic Response System as per the current restrictions in Manitoba, meaning that up to two designated caregivers per person can visit, one at a time inside our facility. Virtual and window visits remain available.
Please stay home as much as you can and keep safe! As always, please do not visit if you are feeling even mildly unwell or if you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Since we know that COVID-19 can be transmitted up to 48 hours before symptoms develop, and you may not even know you’ve been in contact with the virus due to the large amount of community spread in Winnipeg, if you happen to become ill and test positive for COVID-19 and you have visited in the 48 hours before you developed symptoms or had a positive test result, please let us know right away! You can do this by calling the manager where your loved one is supported or by sending me an email at smankelow@stamant.ca.
I hope to see many of you in the town hall this evening at 6pm. For those of you who can’t make it, I will be sharing any questions and answers that come up in next week’s update.
Take care and stay safe,
Sarah Mankelow
