SUBJECT: Covid-19 Staff Update
The great news this week is that we have no new cases of Covid-19 to report. We want to remind everyone that the screening requirements in Manitoba include: if someone in your household has travelled, even if it’s essential travel, you need to call Occupational Health to determine whether it is safe to come to work. Please ensure that you add this to your daily self-screen, and please answer all questions on the screening form honestly. Upon arrival if there is a screener, you can let them know that Occupational Health has cleared you for work.
The Province of Manitoba made a few announcement this week:
- Vaccine cards – soon we will be able to accept general visitors who have a vaccine card indicating 2 doses of vaccine at least 14 days prior to visiting. More information to come.
- New guidelines for outdoor visitation start Saturday.
- A provincial reopening plan.
This is an excellent reason to get your vaccine, as the reopening plan depends on our vaccination rates in Manitoba. The quicker we all get vaccinated, the quicker we will see our province open. Please click this link to see your eligibility.
As of today, we have not received any updated information on visitation for any of our residential services. If we receive new information, we will share it as soon as possible.
We are also working with the province and a local pharmacy to plan a mobile clinic for people we support and also to see if we can get enough vaccine to host a clinic at 440 River Road. Stay tuned for more information. Florence Okwudili, Team Leader and Nahom Kidane, Coordinator shared their reasons for getting the vaccine, check out their stories here.
Thank you for all of your continued hard work!
