Update: Letter to Families – August 6, 2021

August 11, 2021

Dear St.Amant Families,
This summer, with the gathering sizes increasing and the Manitoba Covid-19 numbers continuing to decrease, we are all starting to think about a return to “normal”. At this time, St.Amant has not changed any of its screening or PPE protocols, and we will continue to follow the WRHA and Department of Families direction. Our goal remains focusing on quality of life while also doing everything we can to keep everyone safe. To this end, we continue to promote and support vaccination and believe that a good majority of our staff are vaccinated. We hope that all of you have had the opportunity to receive your vaccines too. The more people within our community who are vaccinated, the more protected we all are. St.Amant will host another vaccine clinic near the end of August, and we will share that information closer to the date.
In terms of quality of life, our teams are supporting people to start to do the things they love. We’re hearing of more outings, lots of outdoor activities, and the pool by the Spirit Cottage has had some good attendance. We are all adjusting to less restrictions at our own pace and we recognize that there are different comfort levels of returning to public spaces and events. We are working with our team to ensure that we have a compassionate approach to these changes.
I hope that you’re all enjoying some of the changes and connecting with people you have missed.
As we look toward the fall, we are planning for a return of some staff to the offices, while also embracing a more flexible work environment. The pandemic has taught us that using online tools can help us to be an efficient and effective workforce from anywhere. Supporting some staff to continue to work remotely also helps our space challenges – before the pandemic, we were running out of office space and today it looks like we’ll have room to continue to grow. We expect that there will be other changes that were made through the pandemic that may continue forward as well, it’s an interesting and flexible journey we are on.
Wishing you all a relaxing weekend,
John
