DSPs have many titles at St.Amant; Support Worker, Keyworker, Treatment Staff, Team Leader, Tutor, Foster Care Facilitator, etc., but you all share a commitment to excellence and best practice in supporting people to have meaningful lives. We are very proud of what you do on a daily basis and want to thank you for your service, specifically on this special week!
Did you know there is an Alliance of Direct Support Professionals in Manitoba? Check out their Facebook page to keep up on what is happening that may interest you!
Below are just some reasons why St.Amant DSPs love their job.
Verna Eyers: I have learned more from the people I support about life, and giving, and caring than I have learned anywhere else. Even amongst those who do not speak, we have great communicators in our midst.
Carlo Cristobal: I love being a DSP because everyday is a different challenge.
Natasha Malenchak: I make a difference as a DSP by being a consistent presence in the lives of the people we support. I love being a DSP because it gives me a chance to learn and grow as an individual myself.
Amber Bell: I chose to be a DSP because I feel individuals with special needs should be given the chance to enjoy the community like everyone else.
