for Parenting Support Professionals who are working with families that include a person with a disability

Session A – St. Amant – Autism Programs
Registration – 9 a.m. Presentation from 9:30—11:30 am
Presented by: Brendan Boehr & Kristina Kircher

This presentation will provide an overview of the services currently provided to children with autism at St.Amant, with particular attention on given to the educational supports offered to parents and care providers (e.g., Triple P: Stepping Stones; the Fulfilling Potential workshop series). Participants will be given a brief overview of the signs and symptoms associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), followed by a discussion of how we are able to provide meaningful and compassionate support for children with ASD and their families using the strategies and methods of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) in concert with Triple P and other therapeutic approaches.
