Aboriginal Speaker Series: Althea Guiboche, “The Bannock Lady”

The next edition of St.Amant’s Aboriginal Speaker Series will feature Althea Guiboche, “The Bannock Lady”. Althea leads Got Bannock?, a grassroots cause to feed the hungry, the homeless, the less fortunate on the cold streets of Winnipeg. She will be sharing her message: In Honour Of The Village We Once Had on Wednesday, January 14 from 12pm-1pm in W419.

Our village pre-contact was one based on honour, respect and love. Every person was a contributor towards the daily routine and survival of all. Each person held roles and responsibilities towards each other, towards the village and toward themselves. We can still have this today, it’s up to each and every one if us, to remember what a connected village we were, it’s up to you to become part of that village.

For more information visit her Facebook page www.facebook.com/GotBannock or her website gotbannock.ca.
