Celebrating Wpg Cards 4 Charity: Virtual Volunteer of the Year

May 1, 2025

Did you know that each week, 400 St.Amant volunteers help enhance the lives of people with developmental disabilities or autism? On April 10, the Volunteer Appreciation Awards celebrated the kind, caring, and gracious individuals who donate their time to St.Amant. In honour of Volunteer Appreciation Week (April 27 – May 2), we will be sharing some words from the award recipients on their experience volunteering at St.Amant.

Winnipeg Cards 4 Charity, your creativity and compassion have truly made a lasting impact at St.Amant. Over the years, Cards 4 Charity have gifted us with thousands of handmade cards, bookmarks, and thoughtful little tags. But these aren’t just paper and embellishments, they’re messages of hope, joy, and love. Each piece tells someone, ‘You matter.’

Hear some words from the Cards 4 Charity team about their experience volunteering below:

“What keeps our organization coming back to St.Amant is the joy that radiates back to us. We can then put it directly into our card-making, so it can be delivered in paper format, and then it bounces back again! There is a loop of this happiness that we’ve been welcomed into that is a rare and beautiful thing. That is what creates a bond between us.

Favourite memory is when dropping off a box of cards, I wasn’t even at the door before the staff at the desk had it open and were oooh-ing and aaah-ing. Catching a glimpse of them rooting through that box made me smile the whole drive home!”

Winnipeg Cards 4 Charity, thank you for your dedication—the love and compassion your work spreads makes the world a better place.
