Advocacy Workshop
This training is open to St.Amant staff and Volunteers (exceptions apply). If you are a staff member, please speak to your supervisor to register. If you are not a St.Amant staff member, and would like more information about this training opportunity, please email training@stamant.ca.
Training Overview
The Advocacy Workshop is a full day training. We should have a better understanding of what advocacy is, and how it relates to your role at St.Amant. Staff will discuss, share and learn ways to advocate for the people we support everyday.
Learning Objectives
- define advocacy
- list different types of advocacy
- understand St.Amant’s statement of commitment
- identify legislation that surrounds rights and decision making
- identify who we are responsible to
- identify several ways we can advocate
- list some limitations and risks to advocacy
- create an action plan
What you can expect:
In this workshop you can expect lectures, videos, and group discussions. If your session date is online, you must join with a device that has a webcam and microphone. If your session is in person, see the location or your confirmation email for details.
