Training Overview

Based on the NTG-Canada approved modules, this 9-part dementia care series covers health care advocacy, aging and how dementia affects adults with intellectual disabilities. It teaches how to make quality observations, recognize age-related changes, and understand the progression of dementia. It introduces the NTG-EDSD screening tool and emphasizes the role of caregiver input. The modules also address creating dementia-friendly environments, applying key concepts and understanding responsive behaviors to better support individuals through proactive, flexible approaches.

Participants must attend session 7 and 8 to register in session 9.
