Mindful Practice
This training is open to St.Amant staff and Volunteers (exceptions apply). If you are a staff member, please speak to your supervisor to register.
Training Overview
This training is mandatory for all staff.
In this workshop, we explore how stress affects people in both the short and long term, whether they receive support, provide direct care, or work in non‑direct care roles that influence the overall environment. Participants will gain an understanding of how mindfulness can help create calmer, more supportive interactions across all areas of work.
Together, we look at real‑world examples of how mindful awareness can shape our own experiences, strengthen our relationships with colleagues, and enhance the support we provide to people with developmental disabilities.
Learning Objectives:
- Compare the way people experience stress, and how that stress impacts their health
- Recognize the potential for stress in the support that we provide to people, as well as our fellow colleagues
- Identify the three guiding principles of mindfulness
- Relate mindfulness to our own experience and work
