Formerly known as Specialized Behaviour Management Theory (SBMT).
The objective of this training is to help our employees understand why the people we support may have challenging behaviour, learn some strategies to better support them, and learn how to support ourselves as caregivers.
- Section One – In the first section we will talk about diagnosis, mental health, and then discuss behaviour as a group. We will look at contributors to behaviour, what factors affect behaviour, how to identify challenging behaviour, and if change is needed.
- Section Two – In the second section, we will identify what good support means. We will talk about how to support mindfully, then share some preventative and reactive strategies. The final part of this section will provide a brief overview on safety planning.
- Section Three – In the last section, we will talk about how caregivers can take care of themselves. We will also talk about stress management, wellness, and self-care.What you can expect:

In this workshop you can expect lectures, videos, group discussions and breakout rooms. You must join with a device that has a webcam and microphone.
