Family & Staff Updates Sept 17

September 17, 2021

Dear St.Amant Families,
This week we held two drive-thru vaccine clinics and made the vaccines available for drop-in appointments with our Occupational Health staff. Overall, 35 doses were given at the clinic, including 24 first-time doses.
St.Amant continues to have zero active COVID-19 cases in staff and people supported.
Every September, the St.Amant community comes together to generously support the Free the Spirit Festival, our signature fundraising event in support of St.Amant Foundation. Normally, we would gather in-person to run or walk but once again we’ll have to do our move challenge on our own time. However you choose to MOVE (run, walk, dance, roll…), your participation in the Free the Spirit Festival will advance the quality of life of people with developmental disabilities and autism supported by St.Amant so they can reach their full potential and live their best lives! The funds raised provide recreation and leisure opportunities, as well allows for the purchase of personal items and equipment, education & technology tools and devices. We will be celebrating virtually from September 20-25 but you can take advantage of the great weather this weekend and do your physical challenge then. Learn more at freethespiritfestival.ca.
Over the past couple of weeks, St.Amant has been promoting presentations and sharing resources with staff on how to support people to vote in the federal election. Elections Canada once again visited Health & Transition Services this week to allow people supported there to exercise their right to vote.
After 80 weeks, Sunday Mass will be in-person for people supported by Health & Transition Services. Capacity is limited in the chapel and at this time, we cannot invite people in from outside of H&TS to attend. Beginning this Sunday, you can watch Father Gilbert’s celebrations live on Zoom. Click here for access at 9:45 am and 11:00 am. If your loved one would like to attend an in-person celebration but needs assistance finding a parish in your neighborhood, please contact St.Amant’s Spiritual Care Associate, Wilson Cortes.
Enjoy your weekend,
