Learning objectives

  • learn exactly what Applied Behaviour Analysis is and details of the St.Amant Autism programs
  • learn about the strategies that we use to teach new skills

Synopsis: This workshop is intended to give new professionals in the medical field a chance to learn about the diagnosis of autism, impairments that will be presented by children with ASD as well as information on Applied Behaviour Analysis. We will review the St.Amant Autism program models as well as program characteristics. Basic principles and procedures used in ABA will be reviewed (i.e., prompting, Discrete Trials Teaching, positive reinforcement). We will also briefly cover some information on evaluation and outcomes.
