This full day conference was developed to enhance palliative care practice for Direct Care Providers, with a particular focus on individuals with developmental disabilities. The conference will engage participants in review of the ethical and practical considerations at end-of-life with a focus on symptom management and how to assess symptoms with nonverbal patients, anticipating changes, medications used and specific planning required in the group home environment. There will be an opportunity to engage in discussion with Clinical Nurse Specialists from the WRHA Palliative Care Program and professionals from St.Amant.
