Brian and St.Amant’s relationship is longstanding. He became a volunteer with St.Amant while in high school and then returned to volunteering with his family through his church. The CARE committee at Brian’s church, ventures out around Winnipeg to volunteer with different organizations. St.Amant struck a chord with Brian’s family, as it had for him so many years ago.
Brian, his wife Pam and their two daughters, aged 9 and 14, volunteer together every Tuesday. This is a chance for the Goodmans to give back to their community and spend time together as a family.
Since August, Brian is not only a volunteer but was hired on as an employee in the Community Residential Program. A grad from Collège Jeanne-Sauvé, French immersion school, he works in a designated bilingual position and uses his French to provide quality care to the individuals that he supports.
Brian is busy guy! Not only does he work in a call centre and with the CRP, he also continues to volunteer. Brian really enjoys spending quality time with the individuals he supports and being a part of their lives. Brian was born and raised in St. Vital, a big football fan; he spends his summers officiating the sport. Brian and Pam share a passion for bowling and bowl in a league together.
This month you can find the energetic couple at the St.Amant Gift Wrap and Coat Check station in St. Vital Centre, they have a big volunteer role, often closing the gift wrap station and making sure things flow smoothly. St.Amant is fortunate to have people like Brian and his family as dedicated volunteers and employees.
The coat check and gift wrapping station, is open until December 24 and again on December 26. To learn more about family volunteering please contact Tracy Laluk or Jovan Reyes at Volunteer Services, 204-256-7048.
