Message to Health & Transition Services Families – August 28, 2020

August 28, 2020

Dear Health & Transition Services Families:
Another month comes to a close and all people supported and staff are doing well.
The Artists in Healthcare program which brings artist and musicians to healthcare facilities in Winnipeg wrapped up this week. I want to thank our summer artist, Erika Einarson for all the fantastic work she has done over the past few months. People supported have thoroughly enjoyed Erika’s creative and engaging programing including:

  • A series of in-person, outdoor concerts with safety precautions exceeding the provincial recommendations
  • A variety of daily, themed virtual programming such as:
    • Coffee time
    • Nap time music for the children
    • Jazz
    • Thank goodness it’s Friday!

I would also like to recognize Andrew Terhoch, Spiritual Health Practitioner, for his continued Spiritual Health Programming through videos, music, virtual prayers, and in-person support when needed to ensure the essential spiritual health needs of your loved ones are maintained.
You may have read yesterday’s communication about non-medical masks being mandatory for all staff and visitors at St.Amant buildings, effective September 1. This has always been in place for those visiting loved ones and it is an extension of mask use to include staff and anyone else entering St.Amant buildings. We will continue to be proactive to maintain the safety of your loved ones and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic to the best of our ability.
We continue to emphasize safety, wellness, and quality of life along with providing staff with the training and equipment they need to continue doing their job to the standard we expect.
Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Sarah Mankelow
Director, Health & Transition Services
