Outbreak Status Update to St.Amant Families – December 21, 2021

December 21, 2021

Dear St.Amant Families,
Over the past five days we have had two St.Amant School community students and four School staff test positive for COVID-19. One of the staff works with students from Health & Transition Services, the other three work with community students.
All contact tracing has been completed. All outbreak protocols were put into effect and enhanced cleaning in the School and gym started on Sunday. The St.Amant School (community) is now on Outbreak Status on the Provincial Pandemic Response System. Some staff and students are isolating at home. Remote learning has already started and will continue until at least next week. Staff are working remotely but will plan to return for the resumption of classes on Wednesday, December 29. Students with no symptoms are expected to be able to return to class on Thursday, December 30. The School is closed for statutory holidays on December 27 and 28.
Visits within Health & Transition Services were suspended on Sunday morning due to the single case in an H&TS staff but will begin again on Wednesday, December 22. We will continue to monitor all the H&TS students for symptoms.
Over the next few weeks, cases are expected to continue to rise. If you develop any symptoms, even if mild, please get tested for COVID-19 as soon as possible. You may go directly to the location during their open hours. For the nearest COVID-19 testing site and their hours, please visit https://manitoba.ca/covid19/testing/index.html.
As always, your support, courage and compassion for our whole St.Amant community means so much to all of us.
Together, we will get through this pandemic.
