Enhanced Consultative Services for Families

The St.Amant Autism Programs offers Enhanced Consultative Services for Families to children and adolescents diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder who have previously participated in the St.Amant Autism Programs. This service is available until high school graduation and provides individuals and their families/caregivers/legal guardians access to consultation as well as presentations and workshops.

Services include the following options:


An autism consultant will provide consultation to the family/caregivers on how to teach their child various socially significant skills (e.g., communication, social skills, leisure, self-care, etc.) or to support with the reduction of challenging behaviour that may interfere with their child’s social and learning opportunities. The autism consultants will work in collaboration with the family/caregivers to develop a treatment plan, support the family/caregivers to implement, and monitor the plan.

Workshops / Education

Workshops and presentations are available to families and caregivers on various topics through our Fulfilling Potential workshops including Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorder and Applied Behaviour Analysis, Understanding and Managing Challenging Behaviour, Effective Goals and Teaching Strategies, and Potty Training Like a Pro.

Our goal with the Enhanced Consultative Services for Families program is to work in collaboration with families and caregivers to support their child to have the most positive and productive home and community experience possible. The referral for the Enhanced Consultative Services for Families program is made by the parents/legal guardians to St.Amant Autism Programs.

The Autism Programs will prioritize referrals upon receipt. Should there be a waiting list for the Enhanced Consultative Services for Families program, all pending referrals will be reviewed on a monthly basis and reprioritized, as appropriate.
