St.Amant School

When students come to our school from a community school, our goal is to equip the student and their community school with the tools, skills and knowledge they need for a successful return to community school.

Overview

St.Amant school operates year round from September 1- August 31. We support students to develop skills for life-long learning. Each year, we develop a plan with the student, our staff and their family to create a meaningful experience that will help them learn new life skills and have opportunities to reach new goals.

  • Data-based instruction
  • Assessment
  • Functional skills curriculum taught in natural environments
  • Interdisciplinary service delivery
  • Inclusion into the mainstream

We assess the needs of each student and build a team to help them reach their goals. Sometimes we collaborate with clinicians, like occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists and others, to help break down any barriers the student may be facing in their learning environment. After we make the plan and implement it, we assess to make sure we’re on the right track. We continually assess and make any changes as the students learns and evolves.
