St.Amant Gives Back with Adopted Highway

May 20, 2021

St.Amant has adopted a highway as part of Manitoba’s Adopt-A-Highway program. On May 4, Martine Lebron, Nicolas Hrynyk, and 15 other people picked up litter on Highway 206 between Dugald and Oakbank. They cleaned a five kilometer stretch from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and filled up about 50 garbage bags.
“There were a lot of masks and cans,” said Nicolas.
Martine confirms that cleaning St.Amant’s newly adopted highway will be a yearly activity. “We’re hard on our planet,” said Martine. “We need to treat it better and we need to give back.”
A sign indicating that St.Amant’s Community Residential Program adopted the highway will soon go up. Look out for it when you’re driving down Highway 206.
