Manitoba Start held its first Employer Awards at The Metropolitan Centre on March 18, 2015. The Manitoba Start Employer Awards recognize business community leaders who hire internationally educated professionals from Manitoba Start’s talent pool of skilled immigrants and employ a diverse workforce.

Outstanding Leadership in Immigrant Employment Award
Recipients: Duha Group and St.Amant
Presented to Duha Group and St.Amant, the Outstanding Leadership in Immigrant Employment Award recognizes organizations that demonstrate leadership by implementing innovative solutions leading to employment opportunities for newcomers and positive business results. Recipients have gone the extra mile to initiate new solutions in partnership with Manitoba Start.
New Partner in Immigrant Employment Award
Recipient: The Canadian Museum of Human Rights
Presented to The Canadian Museum of Human Rights, the New Partner in Immigrant Employment Award recognizes an organization that is highly engaged in driving change to increase newcomer inclusivity in the workplace and has begun a new partnership with Manitoba Start in the past year.
Champion Award 2015: Advancing Internationally Educated Professionals in Manitoba
Recipient: New Flyer Industries
Presented to New Flyer Industries, the Champion Award 2015 recognizes a distinguished organization for its contributions to the advancement of highly skilled newcomers in Manitoba. The recipient is an advocate for newcomer employment and inclusion, and promotes the advancement of those who are pursuing careers aligned with internationally acquired skills, education, and experience. This commitment is demonstrated through initiatives such as mentoring, bridging, and workplace training to support newcomers’ career growth, while also benefiting local business growth.
