Staff invited to attend Toastmasters Open House

January 5, 2017

St.Amant staff all invited to attend the CHERing Voices Toastmasters Open House on Tuesday, January 10 (12-1pm in the East Dining Room).
Come to the Open House to get a sense of how meetings are run and how participants learn from each other. You’ll hear speeches from both newer and more experienced members, and if you’re feeling brave, you can even volunteer to do a Table Topic (impromptu speaking)! However, there’s no pressure to step up until you’re ready (whether you’re a member or a guest) – it’s a fun, low-key environment that makes it comfortable to practice skills and try new things. Just come in and enjoy the meeting and a few light snacks!
Toastmasters is a low-cost/high-benefit professional development opportunity that gives members the chance to practice speaking in front of others, writing speeches, developing agendas and running meetings, and many other skills that leaders use every day. Toastmasters meet twice a month over the lunch hour on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month, a pretty modest investment of time for the benefits you receive.
Feel free to bring your lunch and a friend.
