Update to Community Residential Program Families – December 18, 2020

December 18, 2020

Dear Community Residential Program Families:

Heading into the weekend, I wanted to give you an update as to the health and wellbeing of everyone within the Community Residential Program. We had a bit of a spike in the number of staff with COVID-19 and then also had three people we support who test positive. The good news today is that the three people we support are all recovered and feeling well. Although we still have a few staff who are recovering, we are looking to be in good shape heading into the holidays.
One of the clearest lessons COVID-19 has taught us is that our Personal Protective Equipment works! We are all very grateful that we haven’t experienced a lot of spread from staff to people supported and our team is wearing their PPE conscientiously every day.
With news of the vaccine in the news, St.Amant and the disability community as a whole is advocating for vaccine priority for our staff and for your family members. We are sharing all of the credible vaccine information that we receive in the COVID-19 section on our website, as well as plain language/social story vaccine information. You can check it out here.
Everyone is looking forward to the Family Christmas Party this Sunday from 1:30 – 3:30 on Zoom. I hope you can all join us for this free event! You can sign up here.
I hope everyone has a great weekend, please be sure to reach out if you have any questions!

Sincerely,

Peter Duff
Director, Community Residential Program
