Update to Health & Transition Services Families – April 23, 2021

April 23, 2021

Dear Health & Transition Services Families,
We are monitoring the numbers of COVID-19 cases in Winnipeg very closely, including the numbers of variants of concern cases that unfortunately are rising. We attend the Long Term Care Program huddles as scheduled a few times per week, as well as hold our own daily huddle. Our team is reviewing and incorporating all of the guidelines that come out from Shared Health and Public Health to ensure that we are providing care that is as safe as possible.
Your family members are getting outside into the gardens as weather permits. Hopefully soon, the warm weather will decide to stay! We are preparing for the re-instatement of outdoor visits – stay tuned for more information.
We encourage those of you who haven’t done so yet, to call to arrange for your vaccine.  As family designated caregivers for your family members, you are eligible to receive the vaccine because your family member resides here in a congregate living setting.
We are continuing to ensure that visits, virtual visits, window wishes are occurring as well as 1:1, very small group and virtual programming.  A number of your family members are participating in the Harry Potter programs that started last evening – reports are that it’s been a magical time.
Thank you all for your support.  Take good care.
Be well,
Joanne van Dyck
Senior Manager, Health & Transition Services
