Update to St.Amant Families – April 1, 2021

April 1, 2021

Dear St.Amant Families,
I’m very pleased to share that there are no current active cases within St.Amant. This past week, we were advised of one positive case from a person in our Respite Program staying at 440 River Road but Public Health later deemed them ‘COVID recovered’. Meaning they were not contagious during their stay. The initial positive test result temporarily put Health & Transition Services into an outbreak status and we initiated the necessary protocols. The outbreak status is now over. I’m very relieved and happy that people supported are safe, they can have scheduled visits with their families, and that the handful of staff involved no longer have to isolate at home.
This situation reinforces that even when symptoms aren’t present, we still need to be extremely diligent with the fundamentals. Cases of the more contagious and harmful variants of concern are continually being disclosed daily by the province. Please continue following the Public Health orders and recommended fundamentals.
If you meet the current eligibility criteria for the COVID-19 vaccine, appointments are being scheduled at approximately three weeks out at this time. Appointments can be made here: https://protectmb.ca/making-your-appointment-is-easy/.
I hope that you have the time to unwind, relax and enjoy the great weather over the next few days.
Stay safe,
Shirley Labossiere
Chief Operating Officer & Chief Financial Officer
