Dear St.Amant Families,
As the spread of COVID-19 in our community increases, we hope that you will take every opportunity to follow the provincial health guidelines and recommendations to limit your contacts as much as possible. The graphs indicating severe outcomes and death that the Province shared this week were very clear that the risk to people who are fully vaccinated and have their booster shot is very, very low.
St.Amant is hosting another COVID-19 vaccine clinic for children 5-11 years old on Friday, February 4 & Saturday, February 5. All children are welcome but this clinic is intended to prioritize children with autism, developmental disabilities, or who face barriers to receiving the COVID-19 vaccine elsewhere. For many, this is an opportunity to receive a second dose if it has been eight weeks since their first one. Family and friends of people supported are welcome to book an appointment at our booster clinic happening the same weekend.
This week, St.Amant reported 55 cases of COVID-19 in employees and 14 in people we support. For staff we have: two in Autism Programs, five in Clinical Services, 31 in Community Residential Program, two in Community Services, eight in Health & Transition Services, and one in Operations. For people we support we have: two in Autism Programs, eight in Community Residential Program, two in Health & Transition Services and two in Community Services.
All we can do is take all of the precautions possible, stay home when we’re sick, and get tested to know whether we need to continue to isolate.
I’m wishing you all good health,
John Leggat
President & CEO
