Update to St.Amant Families – January 15, 2020

January 15, 2021

Dear St.Amant Families:
We’ve had some good news this week, the Manitoba Government announced that people working in 24 hour shift staffed homes are now eligible to receive the vaccine. They will roll out the vaccine based on age groups, similar to how the vaccines have been rolled out to healthcare workers. We expect that within the next few weeks our community staff will begin receiving their vaccines.
Additionally, the Manitoba Government confirmed that people supported within Health & Transition Services have been prioritized to receive the vaccine. We are just waiting on a confirmed date. We continue to advocate for people supported within the community to also be prioritized.
For information about the vaccines in Manitoba, the Government Vaccine information webpage has reliable and up to date information.
We received news of two new cases of Covid-19 in employees who work within the Community Residential Program. There were no close contacts identified and the staff are both recovering well.
A few fun things this week: St.Amant Foundation launched a “Pay your Holiday Bills” raffle with a grand prize of $3000. Tickets start at $2. It’s an easy way to support St.Amant. Click here for more information.
And we partnered with some local artists to launch a video to thank front line staff and encourage everyone to wear their PPE. You can see the video (featuring some St.Amant celebrities) here. Big thanks to the Réseau Compassion Network for making the video possible.
Thank you for your ongoing support, please don’t hesitate to reach out with feedback or questions. I hope you have a restful weekend.

Message from the CEO

There are no disability rights; only human rights. I was reminded of that old saying when thinking about the busy month ahead of us. Just like our province, the St.Amant community includes people of all backgrounds. This month, many of us will celebrate belonging, inclusion, and the beauty that exists in diversity. This is Manitoba Accessibility […]
