Dear St.Amant Families,
I hope your holiday season was filled with moments of peace and joy, even though they were surely different from how you normally celebrate.
Happy New Year! I hope everyone was able to have a restful and joyful holiday season!
It was a remarkably quiet holiday season for St.Amant and we were blessed with only a few staff positive cases of COVID-19: two within the CRP program. One case required no contact tracing or specific communication based on low/no contact within St.Amant from date last worked. The other case has not resulted in any identified high risk contacts based on the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The affected staff are recovering without incident.
The New Year and the news of the vaccine is giving us hope and I know I’m feeling very optimistic! We know though, that until all of the people we support are able to receive the vaccine, we need to remain diligent in all of the precautions we have in place that are keeping everyone we support and all of you safe. Thank you for continuing to be cautious and to follow the protocols for visits.
We are paying close attention to the eligibility criteria for the vaccine and will be supporting staff and people we support to receive the vaccine as soon as they are eligible
We continue to share resources and information as we receive it on our website, please check back often as we add information. We will be taking some time in the next few weeks to talk to all of the people we support about the vaccine as well, to help them prepare to make the decision around whether to receive the vaccine and also what to expect when receiving it. This plain language resource in particular will be used by staff as a discussion tool. Please let us know if you have any questions related to how we will share information and support people to receive the vaccine.
Again, I wish you and your family a very Happy New Year!
