Update to St.Amant Families – March 5, 2021

March 5, 2021

Dear St.Amant Families,
This week everyone who was eligible and consented to a vaccine within Health & Transition Services received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. We opened the asymptomatic testing clinic for staff who support Health & Transition Services.
Today, the outbreak at H&TS was officially declared over, the sun is shining, the snow is melting and Health Canada approved the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine – the fourth to be approved in Canada.
Two people were confirmed positive for Covid-19 in our organization, one employee in Community Services and one employee in Community Residential Programs. Both employees are recovering well at home.
There are some great virtual events coming up, open to everyone we support. You can check them out here. Please encourage your family member to attend! In addition to the online events, our teams continue to find interesting and fun ways to keep everyone active and engaged.
We hope that you’re all feeling as cautiously optimistic as we are! Thank you for continuing to support us with your encouragement, understanding and feedback. Watch your email for a formal invitation to our virtual Family Town Hall coming in April. We hope to see as many of you as possible to hear about our plans for the coming year and to take your questions.
Until next week, take care,
John Leggat
President & CEO
