Update to St.Amant Families – November 12, 2021

November 12, 2021

November 12, 2021
Dear St.Amant Families,
This week the government expanded eligibility for third dose COVID-19 booster shots. The booster shot is now available to anyone over the age of 18 whose last COVID-19 vaccine was a minimum of six months ago. You can visit www.protectmb.ca to book. We are also encouraging everyone to get their annual flu vaccine. You can call or visit your local pharmacy to get that vaccine.
The COVID-19 numbers are getting higher and there are more people in the intensive care units being treated for COVID-19. Dr. Brent Roussin, our Chief Public Health Officer, announced new restrictions today. Our community is not escaping the fourth wave. This means we need to continue to follow the guidelines very closely – wear our PPE appropriately, maintain distancing as required, stay home and call Occupational Health when we are feeling sick, continue to meet and train online.
In discussions about holiday celebrations, we want to continue to be very cautious and we can’t in good conscience lighten the safety protocols within St.Amant locations. We also recognize that there is a mental health and wellness connection to gathering and celebrating. Our hope is that families and friends who are choosing to gather for the holidays are choosing safe venues and following all public health guidelines, including ensuring that all people within household gatherings are vaccinated. Please help us keep everyone we support safe while also keeping yourself safe this season.
Wishing everyone a good, snowy weekend.
John Leggat
President & CEO
