Vaccination Update to Health & Transition Services Families – March 1

March 1, 2021

March 1, 2021
Dear Health & Transition Services Families,
This is truly a celebratory day! Today, a total of 86 people supported at Health & Transition Services received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Our four Immunization Teams were here bright and early and all vaccines were completed by 2pm.We received confirmation today that second doses will be given on Monday, March 22.
Staff are monitoring everyone who received the vaccine for any side effects. The most common are generally mild and might include tenderness in the area they received the needle.
I cannot fully express how proud I am of all of the staff who supported this historic day. Every staff member in every department played a role in making today run smoothly. The team shared feelings of excitement, hope, and some of us were overwhelmed with emotion thinking about how this brings us another step closer to being out of this pandemic. Truly a bright star in what’s been a pretty dark sky.
The people we support were pretty excited too!
