St.Amant offers many opportunities for volunteers, in many areas:
Adult Day Services – Volunteers support individuals living at River Road Place and people living in the community in a wide variety of activities ranging from sensory stimulation and physiotherapy to one on one support on community outings, gym and pool activities and many other recreation and leisure opportunities.
St.Amant School – Volunteers assist students in a wide variety of learning activities and support their participation in sensory stimulation programs, physiotherapy, community outings, gym/recreational activities and water therapy in the pool.
Friendly Visitors – Volunteers spend time visiting with people at 440 River Road in a casual setting (reading, walks, playing games, etc).
River Road Child Care – Volunteers assist in a licensed daycare setting, serving children aged 2-6. Volunteers assist with the preparation of upcoming events, everyday hands-on activities and assist with maintaining the supplies and toys etc.
Administration – Various program areas require volunteers to assist with basic office duties such as filing, photocopying and collating.
Gardening – Volunteers assist the head gardener with planting, weeding and general maintenance of the St.Amant grounds and the John and Bonnie Buhler Reflective Gardens, a beautiful perennial garden.
Individually Tailored Opportunities to Volunteer – Tailored volunteer opportunities can often be arranged to match interests, skill development needs and availability during the day, the evening or on the weekend.
