Celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3rd

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is marked around the world annually to promote awareness and mobilize support for critical issues pertaining to the inclusion of persons with disabilities in society and development.
To celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities this year, everyone is invited to attend a free event at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights on Monday, December 3 from 11am – 12:30pm. Organized by Abilities Manitoba and Barrier-Free Manitoba, the groups behind Disability Matters: Vote 2016, there will be live music and a celebration of three major legislative milestones:
• The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms
• The Vulnerable Persons Act
• The Accessibility for Manitobans Act
ASL and computer note-taking supports will be available. Further details to follow. Please note that while the event is FREE, the space has a limited capacity of 500.
