Visitation Update to Community Residential Program – July 16, 2021

July 16, 2021

Dear Families,

We are pleased to share the latest visitation information from the Province of Manitoba for people supported in community living programs funded by Community Living disAbility Services. The visitation guidelines in the latest public health orders, effective July 17, 2021, mean further easing of restrictions on indoor and outdoor visits and gatherings and apply to all regions of the province.

With these new changes, the guidelines regarding visits to the community home remain in place. Staff are continuing to wear PPE indoors and all visitors must wear PPE indoors. Visitations either in-home or out-of-home will be suspended when there is a presumptive/confirmed positive case of COVID-19 in the community home. Staff must continue to screen visitors prior to each visit and maintain a log of all people who have visited the facility (refer to https://manitoba.ca/asset_library/en/coronavirus/covid19_screening_checklist.pdf).

Out-of-Home Visitation:

The following out-of-home visitation restrictions apply to CLDS participants, regardless of their living situation.

  • CLDS participants can attend a visit or gathering of up to five people inside a private residence. Residents of the home are not included in the count of people at the visit or gathering.
  • CLDS participants can attend a visit or gathering of up to 25 people outside a private residence. Residents of the home are not included in the count of people at the visit or gathering.
  • CLDS participants can attend a visit or gathering of up to 25 people at an indoor public place (i.e., not a private residence).
  • CLDS participants can attend a visit gathering of up to 150 people at an outdoor public place (i.e., not a private residence)

The following visitation restrictions apply to visits inside Community Homes:

  • Up to five people may attend a visit or gathering inside a CLDS participant’s facility. Residents of the home (and support staff, if applicable) are not included in the count of people at the visit or gathering.
  • Visitors must comply with the same personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements as the staff working in the home. In general, this means a medical mask and protective eyewear.

The following visitation restrictions apply to visits outside Community Homes:

  • Up to 25 people may attend a visit or gathering outside a CLDS participant’s facility. Residents of the home (and support staff, if applicable) are not included in the count of people at the visit or gathering.
  • For visits or gatherings outside a facility, visitors are encouraged to wear a mask during the visit. Cloth masks are acceptable.

If you have any questions about visits, please connect with your loved one or the Team Lead for your family member’s home. We strongly encourage all family and friends to receive their full immunization as soon as possible. To find an appointment visit: protectmb.ca/making-your-appointment-is-easy/.

Thanks and have a great weekend!
