Update to St.Amant Families – July 22, 2021

July 22, 2021

Dear St.Amant Families,
Volunteer Services has assembled an enthusiastic temporary staff team who will be creating and facilitating fun activities this summer for the entire St.Amant community. Thanks to the support of the St.Amant Foundation, and funding provided by Harry E. Foster Charitable Foundation, people supported can now sign up for free events happening throughout summer.

The Spirit Cottage outdoor pool unfortunately had a delayed opening because of the air quality conditions but we are happy to share that  it is now open for use by people we support, their families, and all St.Amant staff. The process requires that you please pre-book a pool time before entering the pool deck. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the pool will only be opening to independent swimmers. This means all users must be able to swim on their own. Regrettably, this will prevent some of the people we support from using the pool, but should restrictions change, we will provide an update as soon as possible. Pool hours will be from 12:00pm – 8:00pm on weekdays. Weekends and holidays the pool will be accessed exclusively by our Spirit Cottage guests as part of their cottage experience. For further information regarding booking a time, the use of the outdoor pool, and its COVID-19 regulations, please visit https://stamant.ca/programs/pool/.
St.Amant’s Moderna vaccine clinic on Tuesday, July 27 has timeslots available and anyone can drop-in for a dose between 3pm-6pm. Sign up here: https://bit.ly/StAJuly. The Pfizer clinic is unfortunately fully booked.

St.Amant was alerted that one casual staff in Health & Transition Services tested positive for COVID, however they last worked in May and have already recovered. We are very grateful to share that here are currently no other active cases.

Wishing everyone a chance to relax and recharge, visit with loved ones and squeeze in some self-care in the summer months!

Have a great weekend,

Shirley Labossiere

Message from the CEO

Hi everyone! Here is my message for June. My thoughts are with the thousands of Manitobans who have been forced to evacuate from their homes due to the wildfires. Both the WRHA and the Department of Families have reached out to us, asking whether we could provide shelter to evacuees with disabilities if necessary. We […]

Message from the CEO

Hi everyone! Here’s my monthly message. We talk a lot about culture at St.Amant – the values and customs, the ways of being and of treating one another, year after year, that make St.Amant such a special place. Last month brought reminders of a simple fact: culture comes from people making their values real in […]
