St.Amant begins recruitment for new service

December 27, 2021

This summer, St.Amant announced we are embarking on a two year out-of-home respite pilot project in collaboration with Children’s disABILITY Services and Child & Family Services. St.Amant Community Respite and Family Support Services launches in early 2022.
It offers out of home respite options for eligible families with children with disabilities and who do not have the necessary resources to implement a self-managed respite plan and who may require longer overnight breaks than other supports can provide.  The service offers planned and regular respite for children and youth ages 10 – 17 years who are not in care and are living with intellectual or developmental disabilities and/or autism. This comprehensive service also provides enhanced clinical support to families and their children which may include occupational therapy, behavioral supports training and counselling, with the goal of strengthening families’ abilities to continue to parent their children at home.
We are working towards opening a Winnipeg home in the new year and one in Brandon in the spring. Recruitment is currently underway here: https://qss.stamant.ca/Live/applicant/JobSearch.aspx. Starting wage for Treatment Staff is $15.83/hour and Senior Treatment Staff is $17.19/hour.
For more information regarding this exciting new program, please reach out to Erin Huber, Coordinator of Community Respite & Family Support Services, at ehuber@stamant.ca or 204-256-4301, ext. 4412.
