Message to St.Amant Families – June 24, 2022

June 24, 2022

Dear St.Amant Families,

This is the first full week in my new role as President and CEO and it’s been really interesting and inspiring. I’m looking forward to keeping in touch with regular updates (although we may take a little break through some summer holidays). The Covid-19 updates are not as frequent and certainly we’ll keep in touch about Covid specific changes, but we have heard great feedback about the general information and updates shared as well. I look forward to keeping in touch in this way.

I will also be developing an outreach plan to get to know you better in the fall. In the past we have held family town halls and also invited family groups to meet with the CEO and to open conversation and offer feedback about services. I will be curious to hear what kind of connection will be most meaningful for you and will send a little survey later this summer.

Although I have been a part of St.Amant for eight years, I have a lot to learn and look forward to hearing about your experiences and ideas. Until we have an opportunity to meet, I wanted to share a bit about myself in a more personal way, and you can see that in a little video interview here.

We do have some exciting news on the Covid front this week. With numbers very low and the nice weather here, we are changing the mask mandate within some of the areas of our organization effective July 1:

  • Within Health & Transition Services and the space dedicated to HTS masks remain mandatory.
  • Within Autism Programs and River Road Child Care masks will continue to be mandatory inside and will be optional when outside. Children under five are not yet vaccinated and we want to be cautious with this group and also recognize the benefits of seeing faces.
  • In all other areas of the organization, masks will be optional, including for visitors to community sites (unless otherwise specified).

Please remember that everyone moves through change differently and may have very personal reasons for their decision to wear a mask and also in choosing not to wear a mask. Our expectation is that we will also continue to be supportive and respectful of one another’s choices.

Again, I’m looking forward to connecting and working with you all in a new way. I hope you have a great weekend!
