Dear Health and Transition Families,
We have become aware of seven new cases of COVID-19 on Adult Health Services East. This week, one staff member and six people we support on Adult Health Services East have tested positive for COVID-19. Everyone who has tested positive is doing well, some are experiencing mild symptoms, and some have no symptoms. The people we support are being closely monitored and the staff member is isolating at home.
A COVID-19 Outbreak has been declared for AHSE and at this time, everyone supported in this area is required to stay in their rooms. Our staff will be monitoring everyone closely and will notify you if your loved one develops symptoms and requires COVID-19 testing.
Families can still book visitations, including families visiting Adult Health Services East, as per current guidelines. We ask that you try and schedule your visit through unit staff as often and as early as you can. When you arrive, you may require additional PPE, staff can assist you in applying and removing the PPE to ensure everyone’s safety.
As we’ve shared in the past, please do not visit if you are feeling unwell or if you’ve been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19.
Just as our staff have shown unwavering compassion and dedication to your loved ones, you have shown unwavering patience and kindness to our staff. We truly appreciate your flexibility and ongoing support.
All my best,
Sarah Mankelow
Director, Health & Transition Services
