We are very pleased to share that we currently have no active cases of Covid-19.
Currently almost everyone who is eligible within Health & Transition Services has received two doses of the vaccine and roughly 50% of the people we support residentially in the community have had one dose of vaccine, with many people scheduled in the coming weeks. We continue to ensure that everyone who is eligible is supported to receive their vaccine. And we also continue to support and encourage staff to receive their vaccine when eligible.
As service providers, family members and support people, the best way to keep everyone in our community safe is to get vaccinated and to continue to follow the fundamentals by wearing masks, washing hands, staying home and, when out, maintaining 6 feet apart.
As we see cases of Covid-19 that include the variants of concern here in Manitoba, it is increasingly important to follow all health guidelines and to receive the vaccine as soon as you are eligible. Please continue to check the vaccine eligibility as the criteria change often. You can also support your friends and family members to check the criteria and to encourage them to receive a vaccine. Don’t forget that we’re hosting a virtual family town hall this coming Wednesday evening to share some pandemic updates as well as our goals and plans for the coming year. We are really looking forward to connecting with you “face to face”. Please sign up for the meeting here. And you can submit questions to news@stamant.ca in advance and there will also be an opportunity for spontaneous questions at the meeting.
Wishing you all a safe and restful weekend,
John Leggat
