Children in St.Amant’s Early Learning Program had the best day!
Smiles, giggles, and excitement filled the outdoor space as children of various ages hopped in their cars and revved their engines, travelling deep into their imagination – thanks to the brand-new Car Town with cheerful and uplifting paintings on the sidewalk and playground.

A fun ribbon-cutting celebration kicked off the long-awaited Car Town this summer. Students had a giant pair of scissors made exclusively for the occasion to cut the ribbon.

Car Town is a project developed by the Urban Green Team for the past three summers. St.Amant volunteers, staff, and students embraced the project with excitement and curiosity.

The Urban Green Team’s latest addition to Car Town this summer was touch-ups and road signs that can be used as teaching moments while having fun playing outdoors.
What’s next?
The plan is to expand the area with ‘Farm Ville’ around the outdoor space. The idea is to include various scenes usually found on a drive out into the country. Pastures with different farm animals, roadside veggie markets, barns and tractors are just some of the many ideas floating around.

This engaging project wouldn’t be possible without the support from the Urban/Hometown Green Team Program, dedicated volunteers, and staff from all areas, especially Paul and Mark from operations, who are always up to the challenge of creating solutions and providing support whenever needed.
St.Amant Foundation’s contribution with supply donation was critical to making this project possible – and for that, we are grateful.

Car Town is a one-of-a-kind project that brings together people of many backgrounds and talents, strengthening communities while increasing the learning experience for children from St.Amant’s Early Learning Program.
