Update for St.Amant Families – April 4, 2022

April 4, 2022

Dear St.Amant Families,
This week we have seen an increase in positive COVID-19 cases in people we support and staff in Health & Transition Services and in the community. We’re relying on our nursing staff’s expertise to monitor symptoms closely and so far the majority of people we support are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms.
Today, we are in the process of receiving updated information from Shared Health and the Department of Families regarding health and safety protocols related to COVID-19 for staff.
While there are ever-changing guidelines and protocols, the health and safety of your loved ones and our staff remains our priority.
St.Amant is a large and diverse organization that supports people with a wide range of health needs. Some of the children and adults we support are particularly vulnerable to COVID-19. While we are developing this plan, we’re striving to strike a balance to keep your loved ones who are susceptible to adverse health outcomes, healthy, while continuing to provide meaningful quality of life experiences for everyone.
We appreciate your patience and kindness while we navigate these new changes. If you have any questions, please reach out to staff that support your family member.
Sincerely,
John Leggat

There are no disability rights; only human rights. I was reminded of that old saying when thinking about the busy month ahead of us. Just like our province, the St.Amant community includes people of all backgrounds. This month, many of us will celebrate belonging, inclusion, and the beauty that exists in diversity.
