Update on work site limits

April 27, 2020

We have received confirmation from Shared Health Manitoba that licensed Personal Care Homes (PCH) will begin limiting staff to working within one PCH. Long-Term Care (LTC) facilities and Acute Care facilities (hospitals) will not be limiting staff to one facility. This means that staff who work at multiple PCHs will only be allowed to work at one PCH location. Staff who hold a position in a PCH and a position(s) in a non-PCH facility can continue working in both positions.
St.Amant’s Health & Transition Services is classified as a Long-Term Care facility, meaning this decision will not affect the stability of our staffing.
We are confident in the exceptional measures already in place to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all of the people we support and staff. Staff screening, hand hygiene, and routinely disinfecting surfaces while also following the recommendations around physical distancing and Personal Protective Equipment will continue. It is also very important that all staff continue to self-screen and stay home if sick, even if symptoms are mild.
Manitoba Public Health and Manitoba Shared Health are continuously monitoring their policies and procedures and updating them as needed. We will advise of any changes as we receive them.
Again, I want to thank everyone for your continued support, flexibility, and understanding. The changing information and procedures is challenging, and we appreciate your commitment to understanding the up to date information.
