I am pleased to share updates regarding the Leadership Team at Health & Transition Services. Last week, Jennifer Busch began her role as Senior Manager, Programs & Services, H&TS. Jennifer previously worked at St.Amant for over a decade in Speech Language Pathology, and spent the past seven years at Victoria General Hospital leading the Therapeutic Services Team where she managed six different allied health professions.
Kim Thiessen joined us in the role of Manager, Child & Young Adult Health Services over the summer. As a registered Occupational Therapist, Kim has many years of experience in the health system, both in hospital and within the community. Jennifer and Kim along with the other leaders in H&TS will focus on daily programming, operations, and reaching our goals during our ongoing service revision and transformation.
Next month, Dave Nyiro, Manager, Adult Health Services, is retiring after a long career at St.Amant. Dave has continually remained a strong advocate for the individuals supported, families, and staff at H&TS. His work has afforded him many opportunities to develop meaningful relationships and ensure person-centered, compassionate care for all at Health & Transition Services and we will miss him. Recruitment for the Manager position is underway.
One accreditation goal is for H&TS is to allow for infection prevention and control questions to be posed and answers provided. Do you have one you would like answered? It doesn’t have to be COVID related. You can send it by email to llarocque@stamant.ca and our experts will respond.
We’re excited that eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine has expanded slightly to all those born in 2009, giving us even more protection in our fight against the virus.
Activities are ongoing, the virtual events by the volunteer and pool staff have been incredible and very well attended. New artwork on the walkways has also be completed by our Green Team, brightening up our surroundings.
Thank you,
Sarah Mankelow
Director, H&TS
