Dear Health & Transition Services Families,
We have zero new cases of COVID-19 in staff and people we support. If we continue to have no new cases over the weekend, we should be able to confirm that our outbreak is officially over on Monday.
We were pleased to hear today that the people supported in Health & Transition Services who are eligible for the vaccine have been prioritized and we expect to receive a confirmed date for vaccination very soon.
You should have received information from Health & Transition Services via email and mail about the vaccine, along with last week’s memo. If you haven’t had a chance to review the information, please do so soon as you’ll be receiving a call in the next week to discuss any questions you might have and to provide consent to the vaccine (if your family member is eligible and you are their decision maker). This call will come from someone on our pharmacy, social work or nursing team.
Everyone here is enjoying their gift baskets – so fun to have new things to see and do! Big thanks to everyone who supported that initiative. As usual our team is flexing their creative muscles to ensure that everyone is filling their days with interesting things to do and learn. Sometimes it feels quiet, but in those moments some deep connection is happening too. We’d like to give another shout out to Andrew Terhoch for his support in nurturing everyone’s spiritual health and wellbeing.
St.Amant shared a fun video this week to support all of our front line staff to continue to use their own Personal Protective Equipment while also reminding our community that everyone needs to wear their PPE to keep people safe! If you’re a fan of 90’s rap, you’ll get a kick out of this video.
We’re happy to see people visiting again and would like to announce the opening of our outdoor shelter on Monday, January 18. This shelter can accommodate scheduled visits for both designated family caregivers and general visitors (close friends and other family members). Our indoor visitation space will continue to be available for designated family caregivers. As we will remain in RED or critical on the Pandemic Response System until directed otherwise by Shared Health, we can accommodate one visitor at a time, up to a maximum of two at a time if both visitors live in the same household. Please contact the Recreation Instructor in your loved one’s area to schedule a visit and receive information about screening, PPE, and directions to the new outdoor shelter.
