Update to H&TS Families – July 9, 2021

July 9, 2021

Dear H&TS Families,
We continue to see the benefit of people being fully vaccinated and are happy to report that there are no pending COVID tests. Our status as an Independent Immunization Partner has enabled us quicker access to vaccines, and we continue to prioritize first and second doses for people supported who need them, as well as staff and families. We will be holding another drive-thru vaccine clinic on Tuesday, July 27. Please visit https://bit.ly/StAJuly to book your appointment if you need one or know someone who does.
Our COVID-19 work has been focused on safe reopening plans for our respite program and clinics, reducing the size of the COVID cohort area, returning people who were moved in the fall back to Adult Services East, and expanding visitation.
Our team is excited to continue supporting your loved ones to enjoy the beautiful summer weather. Today, there is a Sacred Fire at the Spirit Cottage, and our Knowledge Keepers have done an excellent job in ensuring this special event is safe and accessible for all who wish to participate. It has been a difficult time for our Indigenous friends and neighbours, and coming together to acknowledge the horrors of residential schools and honour the victims of this atrocities is one step in the healing process.
I wish you all peace, health, and kindness-have a wonderful weekend.
Sarah Mankelow
Director, H&TS
