Dear St.Amant Families,
We continue to see cases of Covid-19 in our community. I strongly encourage everyone who is eligible, to get their flu shot and their Covid-19 booster – the bivalent vaccine is available in most pharmacies. Research shows that Covid-19 vaccinated people have less severe symptoms and are less likely to be hospitalized. As cold and flu season ramps up, masks are also be an effective tool when out in public settings, especially indoors. Hand hygiene is another very simple and effective tool to protect against cold and flu. Last, please remember to stay home if you are sick.
As you know Shirley Labossiere, COO & CFO, announced her retirement effective at the end of January, 2023. We have engaged People First HR Services here in Winnipeg to recruit a Chief Financial Officer (CFO); they will begin advertising this coming weekend. We know that finding a CFO who shares our values and commitment to people is critical. Referrals often help us find the most successful candidates. We hope that you will share this opportunity with anyone that you think would be a good fit to help lead the organization.
I have also taken the opportunity to review the structure of the leadership team and have made some changes. Effective December 5, 2022, Shirley and I will split the direct support and supervision of the Directors. Please see the attached organizational chart for reference to the new structure.
All programs and centralized services work in partnership, based on shared values, to make life better for people we support. My goal is to make sure that every Director has the support they need to make progress on strategic and operational priorities. This change should also help to ensure the new CFO has a manageable workload. Shirley is currently working with all Directors to share institutional knowledge and information that will support a smooth transition and organizational stability at a time of significant change.
